Assessing and managing the impacts of infrastructural projects on the affected communities became a necessity in sustainable development of modern societies. The social impact assessment (SIA) is a structured process of identification and mitigation of different social conflicts caused by infrastructural developments. It can be a land use change, resettlement issues, migrations, employment and working conditions, health, safety, cultural heritage and other issues.
Some financial organizations (such as EBRD) already require the SIA before approving financial contributions to the projects.
E-institute has the capacities and the experiences in providing social impact assessment of investments in the energy sector.
